According to statistics, 42 percent of accidents between a motorcycle and car involve the car striking the motorcycle when making a left-hand turn. The car either strikes the motorcycle as it is traveling straight from the oncoming lane of traffic (resulting in a head-on collision), or hits the motorcycle as it is attempting to pass or overtake the car.
