A West Texas Sheriff’s deputy was killed on Saturday, January 29, 2022, following a serious crash with an 18-wheeler as she was driving to assist another deputy in the area with a call reported CBS. The loving county deputy has been identified as 41-year-old, Lorin Readmond. Readmond, who was also a retired Chief Petty Officer for the Navy Reserve, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-Wheeler was unharmed by the crash, and at this time has not been charged with any form of crime. The crash reportedly happened around 4:30 PM and is currently under investigation by Texas Highway Patrol. No other information such as the 18-Wheeler driver's identity has been released to the public at this time. The family of deputy Readmond can be purchased at this link: https://cris.dot.state.tx.us/public/Purchase. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Readmond family in this tragic time. Deputy Readmond's obituary can be found here.

Our Prayer

Lord, please care for the family of this righteous guardian. Give them the strength and grace to accept this loss as your divine will Lord. Fill them up with your love Lord and uplift their spirits with the knowledge that she is living forever in paradise Lord. We ask this in your name with all the glory and honor given to you. Amen.

Tragic accidents that result in fatalities such as this one happen every day. Sometimes it is just bad circumstances that bring about tragedy. Without more information, it is hard to assign blame to either party. Sometimes an accident is just an accident - and was not intentionally caused. However, that does not mean that an attorney should not be consulted regarding a liability/negligence claim. Insurance companies are notoriously known to blame victims during such tragedies. An attorney such as board-certified, Roger “Rocky” Walton, has decades of experience dealing with fatal commercial vehicle accident cases. Rocky has also represented many police officers and first responders and he fights hard to make sure that families are fully compensated by insurance companies for the loss of their loved ones.
