Wrong-Way Crash Kills Texas Judge in Suspected Drunk Driving By Rocky Walton on July 27, 2020

On the night of July 25, 2020, a vehicle traveling the wrong way on I-30 near FM 2642 in Royse City struck two vehicles. One of the vehicles was occupied by Judge David Bridges, Texas 5th Circuit Court of Appeals Justice of Rockwall. Judge Bridges was killed at the scene. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was a 32-year-old woman who is suspected of driving while intoxicated. She sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital then booked in jail for intoxication manslaughter. No injuries were sustained by the driver of the second vehicle. We are devasted to have lost a local Judge due to someones carelessness. We hope the Rockwall County DA's office prosecutes the drunk driver to the fullest extent. Our office is available for a free consultation regarding a wrongful death claim, possible dram shop claim and UIM claim.
