Woman Picking Up Trash on Highway Killed By Rocky Walton on August 14, 2020

On the afternoon of August 14, 2020, a 53-year-old woman lost her life after a SUV struck and killed her as she was picking up trash along I-20 near Collins in Arlington. The driver of a SUV lost control after changing lanes and colliding into the back of the Jeep, sending the SUV off the roadway and striking the woman picking up the trash. The woman was hired by a company to pick up the trash and was wearing a reflective vest at the time. The SUV driver has been arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the woman who lost her life. Our office would be more than happy to investigate this matter further. The family should look for potential workers comp / wrongful death benefits from the employer, auto liability insurance from the SUV driver as well as possible UIM and PIP coverage on the deceased's personal auto insurance.
