Children Injured, Mother Killed in Crash By Rocky Walton on August 24, 2020

On the afternoon of August 21, 2020, a head-on collision on Highway 174 near Old Foamy Road in Johnson County took the life of a mother and injured her 3 children in their Jeep. A  SUV traveling south on Highway 174 veered into oncoming lanes and collided with the Jeep traveling north. The vehicles landed in a ditch together with the Jeep overturned. The SUV driver, a 30-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. The Jeep driver sustained life-threatening injuries and lost her life after arriving at a hospital. One of the three children in the Jeep was seriously injured and taken to a children's hospital. The other two children sustained minor injuries. We are unsure why the SUV veered into oncoming lanes, but we suspect alcohol or texting while driving was a contributing factor. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the deceased mother, her children and her family. Our office is available for a free consultation.
