On the afternoon of March 19, 2021, a Camry traveling east on SH 243 turned in front of a Kia traveling the opposite direction and left four people injured near Kaufman. One person in the Camry sustained injuries that were treated on the scene. Four occupants in the Kia sustained serious injuries and were air lifted to hospitals.
