On the afternoon of July 11, 2021, a 50-year-old former Haslet firefighter lost his life after his motorcycle crashed with another motorcycle at the intersection of Flower Mound Road and Garden Ridge Blvd in Flower Mound. The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to a trauma center where he later died.
