Grand Prairie Crash Kills 8-Year-Old Child
In the early morning of Saturday, November 6, 2021 at approximately 9:15AM, a major car crash involving several vehicles occurred in Grand Prairie on westbound on I-20. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, there was heavy traffic near Belt Line Road, and three vehicles failed to control their speeds and slammed into the slowing traffic ahead of them. The three vehicles involved were two SUVs and one passenger car. The drivers of the SUVs sustained minor injuries; however, a young, 8-year-old child later succumbed to their injuries and was declared deceased at the hospital. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office continues to investigate the nature of the childs injuries; however, we suspect it was blunt force trauma to the head or spine. The identities of the victims have not been identified, and according to the Grand Prairie Police Department, no charges are expected to be filed.
God, Please be with the parents as they mourn the loss of their child. Wipe their tears when it just seems too heavy for them. Help them to know that you are in control and that there will be a day when all the heartache and brokenness of the world will be gone forever.
Causes of Car Accidents
According to Rocky Walton, many factors can contribute to a car crash.
Distracted Driving: Most drivers do not pay close attention while driving. Most are on their phones texting, surfing the internet or on social media. Other simple acts like changing the radio station, streaming music or reviewing navigation instructions often result in rear-end crashes.
Reckless Driving: Rushing to reach a destination or just blatent road-rage causes individuals to speed, disregard traffic signals and tailgate which are all very common causes of accidents in the Arlington area.
Drinking and Driving: Whether it is below the legal alcohol limit or not, drinking and driving is one of the most dangerous things to do. Delayed reaction times, and impaired vision are only two of the many effects alcohol has on people. Vision, and being able to react to certain situations are important senses to have while operating a car.
Dangerous Road Conditions: Faulty lane dividers, potholes, and missing signs can be to blame for a car accident.
Faulty Equipment: Faulty car parts can lead to dangerous driving conditions as well, which can be the fault of a manufacturer, or car repair man.
Inclement Weather: Sometimes, driving is still necessary during bad weather conditions. Rain, snow, wind, or ice are all factors that can lead to wrecks as well.
