Angel David Velasco Arrested by Plano Police for DWI Crash By Rocky Walton on March 14, 2022

The Plano police department has taken a suspect into custody who is believed to be the perpetrator of an intoxicated hit and run on Saturday, January 30, 2022, reported CBS. Plano police have identified the driver as 34-year-old, Angel David Velasco. Velasco reportedly lives in Richardson and was driving at the intersection of Jupiter Rd and E. Plano Pkwy when the accident occurred. Police investigation along with eyewitness accounts state that Velasco’s 2006 red Chrysler Town and Country van heading northbound then ran a red light striking a 2019 White Hyundai Electra that was headed westbound on E. Plano Pkwy. The driver of the Hyundai has been identified by police as, Marcus Jarod Gerald, a 39-year-old man from Mullins, South Carolina. Mr. Gerald died of injuries sustained from the collision at Medical City General Hospital in Plano. An obituary for Mr. Gerald can be found here. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Gerald’s family at this difficult time. At this time, Plano PD has charged Velasco with intoxicated manslaughter a 2nd-degree felony in Texas that carries a maximum sentence in Texas of twenty years and a ten thousand dollar fine.

Our Prayer

Lord, please give strength to the family of the departed so that they may endure this hardship, and in it find a measure of peace that the departed is with you forever Lord. Singing in your holy light and basking in the majesty that is you, Lord. This we pray with all the glory and honor given to you. Amen.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, twenty-eight people die in drunk driving accidents every day, which equates to one person every fifty-two minutes. That is a frightening number, especially with the amount of driving most people do daily. With that in mind, it is important to have an attorney who knows the law and will be able to help the families of those who have suffered and continue to suffer from the loss of loved ones. Roger “Rocky” Walton is one of those attorneys with decades of experience handling serious crash and wrongful death cases. Rocky Walton and his legal team have the knowledge and grit to go after the perpetrator of the accident, and the insurance companies who often do not want to pay for the full weight of the accident.
