Pedestrian Killed Near Collins St Arlington TX March 12th By Rocky Walton on March 21, 2022

On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at approximately 11:01 PM, an unidentified female lost her life after she attempted to cross the street of  N. Collins while she did not have the right of way reported CBS. As the woman crossed the busy road, she crossed into the path of a Chrysler 300 traveling northbound. Emergency services including the Arlington police department and American Medical Response EMS rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, the 32-year-old female pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler remained at the scene where he then cooperated with police via questioning. The driver has not been charged with any crime at this time. Police and witnesses corroborate via interview and video surveillance obtained nearby that the pedestrian did not have the right of way. The Arlington Police department released a statement pleading for pedestrians to obey traffic laws to protect themselves from accidents like this in the future.

Our Prayer

Dear Lord, please keep the family of those who has died close to your light Lord. Please lead them away from the darkness of sorrow and into your loving embrace. May they feel your grace flow through them and fill their hearts with love and acceptance. We ask this in your name with all the glory and honor to you. Amen.

People need to realize that traffic laws especially ones that affect pedestrians are there for a reason. It is so that vehicles do not injure pedestrians, which may not be able to stop in time. It helps to keep drivers safe by halting pedestrians who may never see the vehicle coming. By law, it is both the jobs of the pedestrian and the driver to make sure that they are observing proper safety protocol. If one or both fail to do so, it leads to a tragedy such as this one. Though the woman was at fault for crossing illegally be it from just a rush or other circumstances her family should still seek legal counsel. Doing so would allow them to see all of their options laid out, and allow them to take the best course of action moving forward. Although she walked across a busy roadway, if the driver had slowed or paid closer attention, the crash might not have happened. Roger “Rocky” Walton is a board-certified attorney with decades of experience dealing with pedestrian death and fatal vehicle accidents.
