Texans Are Required by Law to Carry Auto Insurance
Texas law requires all drivers to have liability insurance coverage in order to pay for repairs if found at fault in an auto accident. Drivers are required to have at least $30,000 of coverage for injuries per person, up to a total of $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 of coverage for property damage. This kind of auto insurance is called 30/60/25 coverage.
Unfortunately, many drivers on the road have too little insurance coverage or even none at all. In Texas, you automatically get $30,000 of underinsured motorist coverage, but this may not cover all damages in a car accident. If you are in an accident where the other driver is found at fault but they do not have enough insurance coverage to cover the costs of your losses, you are going to need your insurance policy to take over. You do not want to find out too late that your coverage is not going to cover your costs.
To be sure you are adequately covered in case of an accident, you can increase policy coverages up to $1 million, which costs only a slight increase in your premiums. Many times, clients are amazed at how inexpensive it is to increase their coverage. Rocky recommends taking out the most uninsured and underinsured coverage you can afford. In the event of a claim, the benefits far outweigh the slight increase in cost.

After being hit by another car I thought I could handle the insurance companies by myself. Then I had a lien put against me from the hospital that treated me and my own health insurance plan. I wanted someone who would handle every aspect of my claim including the two liens put against me. WOW...glad I chose Rocky and his firm. The entire team is awesome. From the first meeting with Kati and Rocky to when I picked up my last check, everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable. They kept me informed and knew what to do every step of the way. They got me the limits of my liability claim as well as the UIM. Thanks!View On Google
Mr. Walton and all his staff are great. My granddaughter and I were in a terrible car accident a little over a year ago and we needed someone to help us deal with the insurance company. We could not have picked anyone better. I did my own research and picked this law firm based on reviews I read online. They got us the maximum amount from the insurance company. One of the really great things they do is keep you updated on everything that is happening every step of the way. This is just an awesome bunch of people to have working for you. Great job guys!View On Google
Uninsured and Underinsured Insurance Coverage
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
For many drivers in Arlington, the knowledge that there are people who drive without insurance is enough to make them want to have uninsured motorist coverage. Uninsured motorist (UM) coverage is an important insurance supplement to have because it can protect you if you have the misfortune of being in an accident with a driver who is uninsured. Uninsured motorist coverage helps pay for damages when you are hit by a driver without liability coverage. Instead of making a claim against the other driver, you make a claim against your own insurance company up to the limit of your uninsured driver coverage.
If you are in a car accident in which the other driver is found to be at fault and does not have insurance, your insurance company has a duty to treat you fairly and protect your interests. Unfortunately, your insurance company is looking out for its bottom line, and may not be forthcoming with the payout you need and deserve. This can lead to frustration, especially if you have mounting medical expenses. The Law Firm of Roger "Rocky" Walton, P.C., will fight for your rights and ease the burden of dealing with your insurance company.
Underinsured Motorist Coverage
Underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage is similar to uninsured motorist coverage. Underinsured motorist coverage helps you cover damages if you have been injured in an auto accident involving a driver who has liability insurance, but not enough to cover your damages. Underinsured motorists generally only carry liability coverage as dictated by law.
Unfortunately, many drivers on the road in Arlington are underinsured. Like uninsured motorist insurance, it is important to have underinsured motorist coverage on your auto insurance policy. Underinsured motorist coverage takes over after the at-fault driver's liability limits are exhausted. The process needed to make a claim on UIM coverage is similar to that of UM coverage. If you are in need of an attorney to help you collect on a UIM claim, the Law Firm of Roger "Rocky" Walton, P.C., in Arlington will gladly deal with your insurance company on your behalf.

After I was struck from behind on the highway, the at fault driver's insurance stated their algorithm determined there was no way I could be injured to the extent I was, due to the "minor" damage to my vehicle. Well, they were wrong. I had to undergo major surgery to repair my neck. Rocky and his team took my case and collected the maximum compensation possible. He and his team took the stress off of me and my family. They handled every aspect from the beginning to the end, and kept me informed the entire time. He and his team are amazing at what they do, and we cannot thank them enough.View On Google
Understanding the Cost of Trying to Save Money
Underinsured and uninsured driver claims in Texas can lead to complicated lawsuits. Hiring an attorney not only alleviates the frustration of dealing with the insurance company, but it can significantly increase the amount of compensation you receive. Finding out you have been in an accident with an uninsured driver can be confusing, and you may not know where to turn for help.
Even if you have full coverage, you can run into obstacles. This is especially true if you are struck by a hit-and-run driver. If you are the victim in a hit-and-run accident, your insurance company will be suspicious of any injury and damage claims. In these cases, an attorney can be invaluable.
When you hire Rocky to help you file your uninsured or underinsured motorist claim, you can be assured that there will be no money left on the table. It is a misbelief that your insurance company has your best interests at heart. In reality, insurance companies will often take advantage of a claimant if they can. Their business model is built upon paying out as little as possible. Rocky has been helping car accident victims in Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Greater Fort Worth receive compensation to cover their losses for over 30 years. His team can help you understand and navigate the variables that can have a monumental effect on the outcome of your case.
